The New Moon is nearly upon us and an excellent time to take into action the advice from Platypus, follow your instincts & you'll know what to do.
Every Sunday I will be going into depth into 1 animal, beginning with the Butterflies last weekend, featuring the Platypus this weekend and the Wren next weekend.

PLATYPUS ~ SPIRIT CLEANSING/CEREMONY

Because the Platypus is so closely linked to the Life Cycle, it is a beautiful & loving creature that has dominion over the water and mud elements, due to it's masterful ability to forage for food with it's powerful duck like bill. It finds everything it requires for continual nourishment, being one of the few venous mammals, which has a small defensive mechanism on the males ankle designed to kill small animals & causing severe harm to humans.

So with all this in mind, it is a very similar to our own lives in that, we need to retreat when we feel our energy is low or we feel weak or threatened. This is our bodies natural communication ability telling us that something is not right and we need to take the time out in order to understand what it it that is causing us to feel this drain.

So taking advantage of the cycles of the moon is an ideal time to maximise our natural ability to know the answers & letting go for spiritual release.
Nature is the best antidote for revealing pressure, tension, depression & stress. So allow the Platypus to help you find your way back to yourself in nature and let the moonlight guide you. Cleanse your spiritual energy by spending sometime near water this weekend to rejuvenate, cleanse and connect with your spirit. Use whatever plants and herbs to also assist in your cleansing & this will ideally bring to light your current challenge to solve.

Here is a bit about what Mirree specialises in painting & a bit about the Totem System which is very complex, I have only touched on a few in Australian Aboriginal Culture.

Mirree was born in the regional town of Dubbo, in the Central West of NSW Australia, Dubbo means red dirt in the Wiradjuri language. Dubbo’s red dirt, a symbol of the country in which Mirree was born and to which she is spiritually connected, inspired the artist to undertake the creation of a series of 44 Animal Dreaming Paintings, these 1 meter paintings depict Aboriginal animal totems.

There are many flora and fauna totems that are significant to Aboriginal Australians. The totem system is complex and powerful, signifying the close relationships a person has to other individuals, their group or tribe and to a particular ancestral figure, as embodied by a specific animal or plant. There are individual and clan totems.

Clan totems are shared by tribal groups and are passed down through common female or male kin lines. Affiliation with these totems indicates membership in the clan, strong ties to territorial & mythological stories & totems that warn of any impeding danger. Individual totems are not inherited from family members but signify a person’s special relationship to a particular animal or plant.

Crimson Rosella – Love Birds

The Crimson Rosella teaches about the lessons of love. Sometimes in life due to our past experiences or even harsh negative experiences from childhood, we are still in learning what love is. This applies to every relationship, but more importantly to close relationships involving 2 people.
In this painting though there is only 1 Crimson Rosella, which is telling you that the relationship to yourself and the love that is coming from yourself is vital to any other love relationship you maybe having or are currently involved in or want to be having in the near future. It is through the love we give to ourself that we will be able to come to an understanding of what love is & what we require in a relationship and this includes what we give to another.
Here is the Crimson Rosella is pictured with the native flowering plant 'Common Myrtle', also grown in Europe, Africa & Asia.
